100actions.com – Robert P.’s scorecard

You will forgive me if someone else has already done this. I got the 100actions link from the Stanly county website (great idea). So, this is my running tally from 100actions.com

86 - Recruit Your Friends to Volunteer
Okay. They gave us a couple softballs, but now comes the hard push. It's time to go out and convince someone to volunteer. I've got just the guy in mind.

87 - Talk Politics
Had a long talk with my mom and another with my brother-in-law. Opened his eyes to blogs.

88 - Get a Yard Sign
Hmmmm....I spoke to someone at Rep. Price's office about this but still no word on the yard signs. I would love a Kissell sign, but I think those should stay over in his district. So, I wonder if the NCDP has any generic yard signs?

90 - Send the Six Points to Friends and Family

I would love to do this, so I shall. I’m going to print them out at home and send them to my family via snail mail. There is a greater chance of them ending up on the refrigerator that way.

91 - Write a Letter to Editors
No problem. I do that just about every month anyhow. I’ll use the BlueNC LTE format.

92 - Spread the Democratic Vision
Okay, you go and print this out, then hang it in key places. Hmmm….

93 - Take a Vacation Day

on November 7th. Will do. Consider it booked off my calendar (actually just booked it on my Palm).

94 - Relax, but Get Informed
Something about it being Sunday. I’ll blog my way to relaxation.

95 – Meet your neighbors.

The night before the primary I walked my block and handed out voter guides to everyone who was a registered Democrat. Plus, I live in a walkable neighborhood, so I know most of my neighbors.

96 – Join the Local Democratic Party.
County delegate two years running, district delegate same, state delegate this year. Precinct “leadership position” whatever that means.

97 – Call your Senator
This one is about the minimum wage bill, soooooo…..

98 – Engage your friends.
Feel engaged yet? Sorry, I’m already married. You’ll have to find someone else. This seems a bit much, I mean I know that Republicans are having more kids than Dems, but….

99 – Register someone to vote
Okay. This is harder to do by myself, I will contact the Orange County party to see if I can help with this (time is short I believe).

100 – volunteer
I just emailed the Miller campaign asking to knock on doors. If time allows, I would like to do the same thing with Larry Kissell. I’ll keep you updated.

Comments

Robert, thanks for posting this!

I'm adding a "100actions.com" tag and applying it to this post. That way everyone who wants to can share their experiences and help to build some momentum towards November. The tag will be near the top of the list, under "Action."

I encourage everyone to pitch in and tell us about your 100 actions! Here's the link to bookmark.

Great idea!

You're so right, Robert! I could email this to friends, but it would just sit in people's inboxes, doing nothing. Great idea to print it out in it's purdybluecolors and snail mail it! Brilliant!

"They took all the trees and put them in a tree museum Then they charged the people a dollar 'n a half just to see 'em. Don't it always seem to go that you don't know what you've got till it's gone? They paved paradise and put up a parking lot."

Done 'em all!

Except join my local party, but I think I can be made an exception to that rule.

For now. There's just so much going on!

Whack-a-mole Just heard that on NPR!

The moderator was interviewing Chertoff and used that expression! Think they're reading this site?

Larry Kissell

RobertP, have you tried to e-mail barden.culbreth@gmail.com with Larry's campaign? That's how I got my sign. When someone steals it I am out of luck, because I only have one.

Lovex7

I'm not in his district.

So, I would hate to pull resources, even a sign, away from the fight.

Jesus Swept ticked me off. Too short. I loved the characters and then POOF it was over.

Whack-a-Mole

I heard John McCain say it the other day, so I figured they had been reading BlueNC. Too bad they can't be original.

Larry Kissel, Kos, Swing State Project, and MyDD

Kos is taking nominations for additions to the dKos ActBlue page. I left a vote for Larry in the comments, but it's all alone there. Nominations are also open at Swing State Project.

Also, I've cross-posted the Taylor events in Asheville tomorrow to MyDD. If the spirit moves you, could you give it a little rec'd love?

Oops

*feeling like a loser*

I must've forgotten. Forget I said anything. Go back to your regularly scheduled net surfing.

You can get a Miller sign

And they also need help all this week from 5p to 9p making calls to verfied supporters asking if they too would like a sign this year!

I'll be there W and Th, wanna join me Rob!? ;)
