Our Competition

RedState has a new "blogroll" project, a really big deal over in their universe it seems. It has fancy-pants graphics and everything and it lists blogs:

Below are right of center bloggers that focus on the politics of a particular state or location within a state. Not all local bloggers have been listed here. We've only listed the ones we have reviewed and found to be regularly updated, focused on politics, and right of center.

Join the fun below the fold.

Problem here is that this is an aggregator that lists all blog posts of anyone who posts there. I'm on there a couple times. I'd rather be dead, than red.

Yawn. Idiotic, right-wing, talking-point spewer of hatred nuggets like "Sorry, faggots."

Political Blog of Wilson Daily Times

Impossible to find, and then ends up being Progressives and Conservatives arguing.

The Conservative Voice

Nathan Tabor's piece of trash. So, 2002.

South Now

The Program on Public Life works to enable the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill to serve the people of the state and region by informing the public agenda and nurturing leadership.

So, that's it. A UNC group that seems pretty damn neutral or slightly liberal. An aggregator. A bunch of way outdated blogs. A newspaper that is more or less neutral. And, a couple hate-spewers.

Tough competition.

SouthNow?

I think Ferrel Guillory would have a good laugh if he saw one of the Center for the Study of the American South (which houses the non-partisan Program on Public Life) publications listed with these others. First of all, it's not even their blog, it's a journal. And second, their blog http://southernstudies.org/facingsouth/ is plenty left of center.

Read this from their "About Us" page:
"Throughout our history, the Institute has maintained a strong commitment to developing research and publication projects that directly support grassroots organizing, especially efforts for corporate and government accountability. It has also led the Institute to be involved in the launching of such organizations as the Brown Lung Association, Southerners for Economic justice, the Georgia Power Project, and the Gulf Tenants Leadership Development Project. The Institute has also examined the southern contribution to culture and social change, from gospel music and the blues to the civil rights movement and community organizing."

I wondered.

I looked through their publications and they were pretty unbiased, but the results showed how bad Republican policies worked.

Basically, I think these guys did some lazy technorati thing. Or, progressive trolls added the links ; )

Jesus Swept ticked me off. Too short. I loved the characters and then POOF it was over.

Robert....

You are making my day.

First, you pointed out Chris Bowers' error yesterday preventing me from throwing a tantrum and giving him horns and a tail and basically making a fool out of myself......and today you bring us this delightful bit of humor. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I tried...

I tried to get the Appalachian Voices blog on there. Hey! We're non-partisan!

Guess that won't work.
At least we update every day :)

You guys rock
peace,
jw

Thanks, Robert

This made my morning! It's nice to see that the other side of the NC blogosphere is so well organized.

I didn't make the cut...

...seriously, though - should I feel badly about this?

Justin....NO

I find your content waaaay above the level of Redstate. They aren't known as the Redstate racists for no reason. I might not agree with you on almost anything, but I don't think it would enhance your standing to be found on their blogroll. That's just my opinion, of course.
