And of course that 1/3 of lower wage earners also cannot afford health insurance. These are the people in the gap that Medicaid Expansion was designed for, but the NC GOP simply does not care about them.
Activists argue that solar & other renewables can do the job, using next-gen batteries to store the power so NC won’t need gas or nuclear capacity to keep the lights on when the sun isn’t shining & the wind isn’t blowing. This is fanciful nonsense. https://t.co/MOy9GY0qT1 #ncpol

"Fracking has reduced carbon emissions" is quite possibly the stupidest thing Pope's minions have written in the last decade. Methane *is* a hydrocarbon, and about sixty times more potent a greenhouse gas than carbon dioxide. If anything, the massive increase in fugitive methane emissions due to the hundreds of thousands of fracked wells has made reducing carbon an incalculable task, because that methane will eventually turn into carbon dioxide.
We try to keep Facebook Friday on the lighter side ...
Tommy Chong says JFK smoked "cannabis" in the White House.
NOT ENTIRELY false. #ncpol https://t.co/TZfTBRQB2u pic.twitter.com/PQ4XqwrlCy— PolitiFact NC (@PolitiFactNC) February 17, 2020
You fact-checked Tommy Chong? About whether a dead President smoked pot 60 years ago? How about fact-checking this jackass:
“They tried to Impeach the President eight times before this last Impeachment trial that we went through. In Arizona, people are tired of their obstruction, their investigations, and their Impeachments. They want them to get to work.” @SenMcSallyAZ @foxandfriends Thanks Martha
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) February 17, 2020
And now the ignorant masses that worship this dolt will believe that "eight times" bullshit all the way up to November.
Suzanne and I voted this morning. I love Early Voting - No lines, no waiting and a chance to vote for @realDonaldTrump! #NCGOP #ncpol pic.twitter.com/2yHwixtr4b

Whatley, if you had had your way, Donald Trump would be the only Republican Presidential candidate on the ballot. You're the last person voters should pay attention to.
I adopted a novel presidential primary strategy. I voted for who I thought would make the best president. #ncpol

North Carolina is a swing state & we have 15 electoral votes and 13 Congressional seats.
NC is going to be a target for disinformation, so we need to all be on guard. #NCPol https://t.co/e1XZq8RIuZ— Aylett Colston (@EveryVoiceNC) February 17, 2020
My jury is still out on whether this is a genuine Russian operation or just some creative right-wing nutter. But either way, do not share any of its content, no matter how cute the rescued puppy is or how nice the cop who bought a carseat for a poor baby. It's all trash, just ignore it.
Protesters at a Chatham county polling site Saturday flew confederate flags. #ncpol https://t.co/ymhCxNenvA
— Real Facts NC (@RealFactsNC) February 17, 2020
That's some silly shit, right there. Supposedly mature adults, fetishizing a flag flown by enemies of the United States over 150 years ago. Just so you know, my Great-Great-Great Grandfather and his father both fought for the Confederacy. I'm neither ashamed of it nor proud of it, it's just a footnote. And that's all it will ever be.

Let’s hope that the UNCBOG doesn't try any more shady deals and relocates Silent Sam far from campus with full transparency. #ncpol #unc #uncbog #silentsam pic.twitter.com/nIa7K4yn3S

How about we not let the UNC BOG have any say in what happens to the damn statue? They had their chance to fix the problem and they made it (much) worse. Let the University itself handle it, with no "guidance" from the BOG or the Legislature.
